Restate the chosen variant in the cart line item
Spelling out size, color, and quantity on every cart line removes the doubt that sends shoppers back to the product page to double-check what they picked.

What it is
Each cart line repeats the full variant selection in text next to the thumbnail, rather than relying on the product image to communicate which version was added.
Why it works
A thumbnail cannot tell a shopper whether they picked medium or large, and a shopper who is unsure will leave the cart to find out. Every one of those trips is a chance to get distracted and not come back. This matters most in categories where the wrong variant is expensive to return, because that is exactly where the doubt is strongest and the check is most likely.
How to test it
- Hypothesis
- Restating size, color, and quantity on each cart line will lift checkout completion rate, because shoppers no longer leave the cart to verify what they added.
- Primary metric
- Checkout completion rate
- Guardrail metric
- Return rate, which should hold or improve rather than worsen
