State which fit or length options are actually in stock, right on the tile
Below the color swatches, the tile spells out which fit-defining variant is currently available, plus a rough stock count per color, so a shopper does not click into a product only to find their preferred option is not offered.

What it is
Underneath the color swatch row, the tile adds a line of text stating which fit-defining variant is currently available for that style, plus a rough remaining-stock count next to the swatches themselves, both pulled from live inventory rather than shown generically for every product.
Why it works
Color is rarely the only thing that varies between products in the same style, and for some categories a second dimension like length or fit matters as much as color for whether the product actually works for the shopper. Clicking into a product to discover that the one option that fits is not stocked is a wasted trip, and it is a worse outcome than never having filtered for it at all, because the shopper now has to go back and re-scan the grid having lost their place.
How to test it
- Hypothesis
- Stating available fit or length variants directly on the category tile will lift add-to-cart rate, because shoppers can rule out products missing their needed variant without opening the product page to find out.
- Primary metric
- Add-to-cart rate (category grid sessions)
- Guardrail metric
- Category page load time, since resolving live variant-availability text for every tile adds an extra data lookup per product shown
