A frequently-bought-together bundle on the product page

A short, specific set of items other shoppers actually bought with this one, addable to the cart in a single click, sitting below the main product rather than buried in a generic recommendations carousel.

What it is

Below the variant selector, a compact module lists two or three specific items frequently purchased alongside the main product, each with its own checkbox and price, so checking one folds it straight into the same "Add to Cart" action instead of starting a separate add-to-cart flow.

Why it works

A shopper who has already decided to buy the main item is in a different mindset than one browsing a homepage carousel; they have their card out, so to speak. Showing what actually pairs with the exact item in front of them, rather than generic recommendations pulled from browsing history, answers a question the shopper would otherwise have to leave the page to solve themselves: what else do I actually need to go with this. Folding the add-on into the same Add to Cart click removes the friction that would normally cost each additional item its own separate decision.

How to test it

Hypothesis
Adding a frequently-bought-together bundle to the product page will lift average order value, because shoppers who have already decided to buy the main item can add complementary items with no extra decision-making friction.
Primary metric
Average order value (sessions that view a product page with the bundle)
Guardrail metric
Return rate on bundle add-ons, since items added through a one-click bundle may get less individual consideration than a deliberately chosen purchase
