Sticky add-to-cart bar on mobile product pages
A persistent add-to-cart bar that stays pinned as the shopper scrolls a long mobile product page, so the buy action is never more than a thumb-tap away.

What it is
The primary add-to-cart control detaches from its position in the page flow once the shopper scrolls past it, and re-anchors to the bottom of the viewport. Stronger implementations carry the price and the selected variant into the bar, so it doubles as a running summary of what is about to be bought.
Why it works
Mobile product pages are long. Reviews, size guides, shipping copy, and cross-sells push the buy button far above the fold the shopper is actually looking at, which means a decision to buy formed halfway down the page has to survive a scroll back up to be acted on. A sticky bar removes that round trip. It also resolves a quieter problem: on a long page the shopper can lose track of which variant is selected, and restating it in the bar removes the doubt that sends people back up to check.
How to test it
- Hypothesis
- Pinning the add-to-cart control to the viewport on mobile product pages will lift add-to-cart rate, because shoppers who decide to buy below the fold no longer have to scroll back up to act.
- Primary metric
- Add-to-cart rate (mobile product page sessions)
- Guardrail metric
- Revenue per visitor, to confirm the lift is not just cheaper impulse adds that never check out
